Sizing & placement
Downspouts should discharge at least 4 to 6 feet from your home, and ideally closer to 10 feet where grading allows.
2x3 inch downspouts pair with 5-inch K-style gutters, while 3x4 inch downspouts pair with 6-inch K-style gutters — one downspout typically drains about 600 square feet of roof.
